Vocation Day in New Melle

Sunday,
January 18:
We went to a vocation day at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in New Melle, a small city close to St. Louis. First we had Mass with the young people. After Mass eight or ten congregations had vocation displays for the youth to look at. It was a good opportunity to speak with the young people and promote our vocation day.

Presentation about St. Paul

Sunday,
January 11:
The postulant group gave a presentation about St. Paul to the Leisure Club at St. Justin's Parish. Emily and Sr. Rebecca spoke about the life and spirituality of St. Paul, and Sylwia prepared a PowerPoint presentation and took pictures for the blog. We also brought a book exhibit of St. Paul titles. The people were very grateful that we came and very happy to learn more about St. Paul. For us, it was a good practice for our Pauline Mission, which will be in February at Little Flower Parish.

History Starts Today! Happy New Year 2009

Thursday,
January 1:
We slept quickly this night because we brought in the new year by having Adoration from 8:00 to midnight. Before Adoration, the postulant group prepared a fun supper and recreation for the community.
On New Year's Day, we had two special celebrations because it was Sr. Caritas' birthday! First, we went to Mass, then to a restaurant for lunch. In the afternoon, Sr. Emi, Sylwia, and Emily went for the first walk of the year at a sculpture park. There were many different modern sculptures and lots of space for us to work off all our energy and breathe the fresh air. In the evening, we watched a movie with the whole community.
