¡No puedo creer que ya es el 25 de enero, la conversión de San Pablo! Hoy hace exactamente un año que comenzé el aspirantado. Ahora usted se ha dado cuenta que cada día esta lleno de sorpresas. El viernes nosotras invitamos un grupo de girl scouts a nuestra librería. Mientras ellas almorzaron compartimos con ellas sobre como es nuestra vida de postulante. En vez de nosotras explicarles nuestra misión les mostramos a ellas un video de la vocación Paulina y tuvimos un actividad. Ellas tuvieron que encontrar algunos de nuestros libros y cd’s, discubrir quien son nuestros fundadores, y contestar preguntas sobre nuestra espiritualidad y misión. Fue una gran manera de proveerles la oportunidad de hablar con las hermanas y nosotras postulantes tambíen. Después ellas compartieron con nosotras las respuestas que ellas habían encontrado y Emily concluyó el encuentro con un tiempo de oración en la capilla. El martes nosotras dimos la bienvenida a el Hermano Aloysius Milella, un religioso de la Sociedad de San Pablo y amigo bueno de la comunidad. El Hermano Al pasará una semana con nosotras. El miércoles por la noche él dio una conferencia sobre la conversión de San Pablo. ¡Un gran número de personas vino y algúnos manejaron casi una hora para llegar! Cuándo todos se habían ido, él Hermano Al nos desafió a un juego de Scrabble que él mismo ganó. Me conmovió especialmente las muchos experiencias que él nos compartió durante la semana. ¡En sus viajes él ha encontrado tantas personas de gran fé. Pero lo mejor es que él aún conoció a nuestro fundador! He leído tantos libros sobre la vida de Alberione pero oír estas anécdotas personales de él me he enriquecido tanto. Gozamos también en tener a la hermana Laura aquí. Ella ya nos ha preparado tarjetas de vocabulario en Italiano para que podamos aprender con ella. Tenemos tanto por lo cual estar agradecidas. Continuamos en oración y en estudio y seguimos adelante. San Pablo, ruega por nosotros.

I can’t believe that it’s already January 25th, the conversion of St. Paul! One year ago today I began candidacy. (You can read more about our stages of formation on our website: http://www.daughtersofstpaul.com/daughters/vocations/vocdiscern.html). By now you realize that each day is full of surprises. On Friday we invited a group of Girl Scouts to our bookcenter. While they ate lunch, we shared with them about our life as postulants. Instead of simply explaining our mission to them, we showed them a vocation video of the Daughters of St. Paul and had a scavenger hunt in the bookcenter. They had to find some of our books and CD’s, discover who our founders are, and answer questions about our spirituality and mission. It was a great way to provide them with an opportunity to talk with the sisters and us postulants, too. After, they shared with us the answers that they had found and Emily concluded the meeting with a time of prayer in the chapel. On Tuesday we welcomed Br. Aloysius Milella, a religious of the Society of St. Paul and a good friend of the community. Br. Al spent one week with us. On Wednesday night he gave a conference about the conversion of St. Paul. Many people came and some drove almost an hour to get here! When everyone had gone, Br. Al challenged us to a game of Scrabble that he himself won. I was especially moved by the many experiences that he shared with us during the week. In his travels he has met many people of great faith. But the best is that he even knew our founder! I have read many books on the life of Alberione but to hear his personal stories has been very enriching for me. We are also enjoying Sr. Laura’s presence here. She has already made vocabulary cards in Italian for us so we can learn with her. We have much to be grateful for. We continue in prayer and in study and press onward. St. Paul, pray for us.
