Pauline Lecture Series: Vincentian Spirituality

Wednesday March 10, 2010:

Today we had a wonderful speaker: Fr. Jim Cormack, a Vincentian and pastor of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church (http://www.sclparish.org/). He shared with us the life of St. Vincent and the Vincentian spirituality which has a particular focus on the poor. Our conference room was filled to capacity - we had about 60 people in attendance! He shared with us that Vincentian priests take the vows of chastity, poverty, obedience and stability. He also added that they are called to embrace certain virtues - meekness, humility etc. - virtues which we all need in our lives. St. Vincent de Paul pray for us to be more like Jesus!

How are you reaching out and serving Jesus in the "poor" around you? People may be poor spiritually, materially, socially...
